ANNO 1890 is a historical database based on the population registered in their homeparishes on Dec. 31 1890. The database contains the original text from the census 1890 and names of persons, places and occupations have their original spelling from this period. No modern translation has been done.

Searching by name

Two ways of searching by name are possible in ANNO 1890. Searching Exactly means that there is an exact correspondence between the searched name and the registered name in the database. Maximum one first name and one last name can be searchable. Searching by part of name makes it possible to search for names starting or including a certain string of characters.

Searching for children

Children were not registered in the census with their last name. When searching for children (in this case persons born after 1870) - Search only by their first name!
